Seckford Hall Hotel has announced the appointment of four key members of staff, who will be joining the team to help develop and strengthen the hotels future growth.
The Hotels highly regarded team will be boosted by the arrival of Richard Brown, who joins as Business Development Manager, Anne Musolino as Events Coordinator and Ashley Durrant and Liam Oakenfull who are promoted to Head Chefs.
Richard’s role as Business Development Manager is seen as key to the hotels development. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the hotel industry.
After nearly three years with the Starwood Hotel Group in America, Richard moved to Miami where he worked as a concierge with Royal Caribbean. Moving through the ranks he held various marketing and sales roles before working as Onshore Sales and Marketing director for 7 years. Based in the Caribbean, he also worked on 4 of the 5 main continents of the world, managing 1200 staff from 60 different countries and achieving sales in excess of $55 million. When visiting Suffolk he met his wife and decided to set up roots in this country.
Richard commented: “I am delighted to be joining Seckford Hall at such an exciting time and really looking forward to developing its already strong reputation further.”
Anne Musolino joins Seckford as Events Coordinator. This is a return for Anne who previously worked at the hotel 7 years ago before leaving to join Otley College. She then joined the Milsoms Group at Kesgrave Hall as Accommodation/ Front of House Manger for 3 years, helping with the opening and managing a team including the housekeeping department and night managers. She then joined Peter Osborne in Aldeburgh at the White Lion Hotel, as Weddings & Events Manager.
“I am really excited about coming back to Seckford Hall.” Commented Anne. “The hotel was always very special to me and with the new refurbishment and expansion plans well under way, the hotel will have a great offering to both local and national clients. I am also really looking forward to the challenges ahead and working closely with Richard to develop the business.”
Ashley and Liam have been working together at Seckford Hall for a number of years and have recently been promoted to the role of joint Head Chefs.
Ashley who is Ipswich born and bred, studied his craft at Suffolk College, with his first appointments at Felixstowe Docks and then the Directors Restaurant. From there Ashley has worked for two other local hotels, The Moat House at Copdock and the prestigious Hintlesham Hall. A keen Golfer, who has represented Suffolk County, Ashley is looking forward to developing Seckford Halls menus together with Liam to make the hotel a real destination for great locally sourced food.
Liam originally joined Seckford Hall after three years at The Tower and Ritz Hotels in London. He left Seckford after four years to pursue a career as a Private Chef before taking on role as Sous Chef @ Belstead Brook Hotel in Ipswich. Other career highpoints for Liam is working as Sous Chef at Ipswich Town Football Club and working in Cyprus at The Palm Beach in Limmasol. After a very successful career at The Gatehouse including many features in EADT, he decided to return to Seckford Hall as Senior Sous Chef, before taking up his current role as joint Head Chef.
