Access Statement


Seckford Hall Hotel is situated off the A12 London road. Do not go into Woodbridge Town Centre. Turn left off the A12 (from the South) at clearly marked blue & white Hotel sign into Seckford Hall Road, the main driveway into the grounds is the next left. For new visitors to Seckford Hall, follow the drive and turn left down a slope to main parking area directly in front of the hotel. The large wooden door in the centre of the building is the entrance to reception.

Woodbridge Town Centre is a 30-minute walk, 5 minutes by car.

Taxis can be arranged via reception.

You can contact the hotel by phone, email, fax and in person. We are open 24 hours – except December 25th. –  although response, e.g. to emails, may be reduced from 10pm to 9am.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

All guests should use the entrance to the hotel located at the centre front of the main building. The car park is light gravel, but is suitable for wheelchairs; the entrance is ground level with no steps into reception. For those needing assistance a doorbell is located on the right centre of the door. There is a disabled parking bay to the left of the main door.

After checking in at reception, customers staying in the ‘Courtyard’ area of the hotel may wish to re-park their vehicle in the space behind these rooms. For wheelchair users this area provides a level paved surface to all ground floor rooms.

Our porters will assist with luggage; there is at least 1 porter on duty 24hrs contactable by calling reception.

We have a brochure facility, which will give information to most surrounding attractions and places of interest.

Main Entrance and Reception

There are no steps into reception; the reception/check in area is immediately on your left as you enter the building.

When first arriving you should fill out your registration card, any questions you may have will be answered by the reception team.

A porter will show guests to their room assisting with luggage, he/she will advise guests of their nearest fire exit/s.

Just to the right of reception you can access ‘The Great Hall’ a place of comfort on ground level with 1 step down.

To access to the main restaurant from reception there is 1 step up. A further 2 steps up & down, ramps available, give access to the garden lounge & function suite respectively.

To access the main bar area from reception you will encounter a small staircase, 6 steps up.

The gardens can be accessed from the reception area, with just 1 small step leading outside, from here you can access the function suite at ground level by crossing over a grass area.

Side Entrance

To the right of the main entrance is a side entrance with no steps; here you are able to access the main restaurant at ground level.

Also at the side entrance is a disabled WC at ground level, this facility is complete with handrails at the toilet and basin, also an emergency alarm cord.

Just inside the side entrance are Gents WCs.

General Public Areas / Main Building

The main restaurant, disabled WC, gents WC and ‘The Small Lounge’ can all be accessed at ground level from the side entrance, from reception you will encounter a step up.

Ladies WC is located on the first floor, up the main staircase.

‘The Garden Room’ is located opposite the main staircase up 2 steps.

‘The Lakeside’ function suite is located at the end of the garden room, up & down 2 steps.

‘The Great Hall’ is located at ground level; from & next to the reception area; from other areas expect steps down.

The main bar can be accessed from the reception area or the restaurant area in each case up a small flight of stairs 6 & 5 steps respectively.

Access to the first & second floors of the main building are by stairs only, 18 steps & 14 steps.
