The Story
What made Seckford Hall Hotel and Spa stand out to you?
Right from the get go the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we knew straight away we could trust them to create our perfect day. The beautiful hotel and grounds were an absolute bonus.
Tell us about your wedding journey in the lead up to your wedding and how did you feel?
We rode the ups and downs of wedding planning with smiles and tears, some activities are certainly more fun than others! But overall it was joyful, romantic and exciting. Having Grace and Ieuaf at the end of the phone was a great help.
What was your theme? Any favourite unique touches?
We didn’t have an overall theme but we leaned in to the time of year and tried to incorporate as many spring pastels and florals as possible. Dan also got married in uniform so seeing those flowers and confetti during the guard of honour felt very special.
What food did you choose? Is there a reason for your choices?
We chose the Gressingham Duck and Sea Bass as our main dishes, they went down an absolute storm. All the food we tried during the tasting was delicious but these two just stood out to us.
What was the 3 most important ‘must-haves’ at your wedding?
Live music (singer for drinks reception and band in the evening), a beautiful setting for the reception, lots of great wine!
What was the soundtrack to your day? Aisle music, first dance?
Beth walked down the aisle to ‘Malibu’ by Mumford and Sons. Our first dance was to ‘Next to Me’ by Kingfishr. Special mention to ‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams which was the best floor filler.
With unlimited photo opportunities, where was your favourite spot?
It’s tied between the top of the driveway, in the walled garden at golden hour and in front of the amazing wisteria in full bloom.
What was your favourite space/area at Seckford Hall? Why was this your favourite space and how did you use it?
The pavilion was the perfect space for all our guests and the great hall housed the band and dance floor perfectly. Special mention must go to the bandstand where we shared a couple of quiet moments for vows immediately following our ceremony
Tell us about your evening reception, did you party the night away?
Hell yes! The live band kept the dance floor filled all evening, as well as generous helpings of evening food, cake and cheese! The bar being in the same room as the dance floor was also awesome
Did either of you stay the night before? Did you enjoy being closer the night before?
Beth stayed in the bridal suite the night before. It was the perfect girly space to get ready, keep calm and prepare for an amazing day
Any suppliers that you would recommend to others?
Definitely! Charlotte Wotton our amazing photographer, Elly’s Flower Studio, Jasmin Clarke Content Creator, Holly Stringer Wedding Singer, The Arcadias Band, and of course Seckford Hall and the whole team. All incredible professionals!
